1. I understand the church(⛪) business like nobody else. So, there is no point in anybody trying to teach me.

മറ്റാരെയും പോലെ എനിക്ക് പള്ളി(⛪) കാര്യങ്ങൾ മനസ്സിലാകും. അതുകൊണ്ട്, ആരെങ്കിലും എന്നെ പഠിപ്പിക്കാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നതിൽ അർത്ഥമില്ല.

2. Three of my aunts(my mother's sisters) retired as mother superior after serving as principal(1) and lab technicians(2).

 

എന്റെ മൂന്ന് അമ്മായിമാർ (എന്റെ അമ്മയുടെ സഹോദരിമാർ) പ്രിൻസിപ്പൽ (1), ലാബ് ടെക്നീഷ്യൻ (2) എന്നീ നിലകളിൽ സേവനമനുഷ്ഠിച്ച ശേഷം മദർ സുപ്പീരിയർ ആയി വിരമിച്ചു.

 

3. All of them were post graduate in science or something like that. One of them is no more.

അവരെല്ലാം ശാസ്ത്രത്തിലോ മറ്റോ ബിരുദാനന്തര ബിരുദം നേടിയവരായിരുന്നു. അവരിൽ ഒരാൾ ഇപ്പോൾ ഇല്ല.

4. Still, my mother herself couldn't bear a mass conducted by our priest heading Santhome school in Saint Thomas Church one day despite being reasonably religious herself. That priest from Santhome school is a funny man in anycase(as per my information) and in serious need of help.

 

എന്നിട്ടും, ഒരു ദിവസം സെന്റ് തോമസ് പള്ളിയിലെ സാന്തോം സ്കൂളിലെ പുരോഹിതൻ നടത്തിയ കുർബാന എന്റെ അമ്മയ്ക്ക് സഹിക്കാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല, അവർ വളരെ മതവിശ്വാസികളായിരുന്നിട്ടും. സാന്തോം സ്കൂളിലെ ആ പുരോഹിതൻ എന്തായാലും ഒരു തമാശക്കാരനാണ് (എന്റെ അറിവിൽ), അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് സഹായം വളരെ ആവശ്യമാണ്.

 

5. All my mother(raised in Kerala) had to tell me and her daughter in-law after attending that mass was, register in the nearby English(Latin) church- Divine Mercy, go to Divine Mercy only and never go back to St Thomas Church. 😆

 

THERE CAN'T BE A MORE DAMNING COMMENT ON THE SORRY STATE OF AFFAIRS IN SAINT THOMAS CHURCH.

 

ആ കുർബാനയിൽ പങ്കെടുത്തതിന് ശേഷം എന്റെ അമ്മ (കേരളത്തിൽ വളർന്നത്) എന്നോടും മരുമകളോടും പറഞ്ഞതെല്ലാം - അടുത്തുള്ള ലാറ്റിൻ പള്ളിയിൽ രജിസ്റ്റർ ചെയ്യുക, ഡിവൈൻ മെർസിയിൽ മാത്രം പോകുക, സെന്റ് തോമസ് പള്ളിയിലേക്ക് തിരികെ പോകരുത്. 😆

സെന്റ് തോമസ് പള്ളിയിലെ അവസ്ഥയെക്കുറിച്ച് ഇതിലും വലിയ ഒരു വിമർശനം ഉണ്ടാകില്ല.

 

6. I understand, the church set-up has serious limitations, insecurities, primitive frame of mind, ... . 

എനിക്ക് മനസ്സിലായി, സഭാ സംവിധാനത്തിന് ഗുരുതരമായ പരിമിതികൾ, അരക്ഷിതാവസ്ഥകൾ, പ്രാകൃതമായ മാനസികാവസ്ഥ,... .

 

7. Incidentally, my family always retained our membership in a church, in Kerala. So, it shocks me even more to see St Thomas Church being more unrelenting than them.

 

ആകസ്മികമായി, എന്റെ കുടുംബം എല്ലായ്പ്പോഴും കേരളത്തിലെ ഒരു പള്ളിയിൽ അംഗത്വം നിലനിർത്തിയിരുന്നു. അതിനാൽ, സെന്റ് തോമസ് പള്ളി അവരെക്കാൾ പിന്തിരിപ്പൻ ആണെന്ന് കാണുന്നത് എന്നെ കൂടുതൽ ഞെട്ടിക്കുന്നു.

8. Being related to and friendly to few highly wealthy people, I know exactly how the church setup is a willing puppet of such people and set aside everything for money.

വളരെ കുറച്ച് ധനികരായ ആളുകളുമായി ബന്ധവും സൗഹൃദവും പുലർത്തുന്ന എനിക്ക്, പള്ളി എങ്ങനെയാണ് അത്തരം ആളുകളുടെ ഒരു പാവയെന്നും പണത്തിനായി എല്ലാം മാറ്റിവെക്കുന്നതെന്നും കൃത്യമായി അറിയാം.

9. Our churches have never had any morality in anycase. Morality of the church is always meant for public consumption and nothing more. Also, this is a known fact to everyone. So, nobody is fooling anyone here.

നമ്മുടെ പള്ളികളിൽ ഒരിക്കലും ഒരു ധാർമ്മികതയും പാലിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. പള്ളിയുടെ ധാർമ്മികത എപ്പോഴും പൊതുജനങ്ങളുടെ ഉപഭോഗത്തിന് വേണ്ടിയുള്ളതാണ്, അതിൽ കൂടുതലൊന്നുമില്ല. കൂടാതെ, ഇത് എല്ലാവർക്കും അറിയാവുന്ന ഒരു വസ്തുതയാണ്. അതിനാൽ, ഇവിടെ ആരും ആരെയും വിഡ്ഢികളാക്കുന്നില്ല.

 

10. Fortunately/unfortunately, women in our homes don't want to stand up to the church. Instead, they prefer to abandon the church as they're quite clear, it is impossible to fix the patriarchal system perpetuated by the church in the name of belief.

ഭാഗ്യവശാൽ/നിർഭാഗ്യവശാൽ, നമ്മുടെ വീടുകളിലെ സ്ത്രീകൾ പള്ളിയെ എതിർക്കാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ല. പകരം, വിശ്വാസത്തിന്റെ പേരിൽ സഭ നിലനിർത്തുന്ന പുരുഷാധിപത്യ വ്യവസ്ഥയെ ശരിയാക്കുക അസാധ്യമാണെന്ന് അവർക്ക് വ്യക്തമായതിനാൽ അവർ പള്ളി ഉപേക്ഷിക്കാൻ ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നു.

 

11. Clearly, I couldn't have been more candid about the realities of our church and all their affiliated organisations.

നമ്മുടെ സഭയുടെയും അതിന്റെ അനുബന്ധ സംഘടനകളുടെയും യാഥാർത്ഥ്യങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച് എനിക്ക് ഇതിലും തുറന്നുപറയാൻ കഴിയുമായിരുന്നില്ല എന്നത് വ്യക്തമാണ്.

12. Also, those depending on the church(working for the church) are bound to sing endless peans for the church. They've vested interest- money, 2 minutes of fame, clout, .... position of power(🪑), own job to care for.

കൂടാതെ, പള്ളിയെ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവർ (പള്ളിക്കുവേണ്ടി ജോലി ചെയ്യുന്നവർ) പള്ളിക്കുവേണ്ടി അനന്തമായി പാട്ടുപാടേണ്ടിവരും. അവർക്ക് നിക്ഷിപ്ത പലിശയുണ്ട് - പണം, 2 മിനിറ്റ് പ്രശസ്തി, സ്വാധീനം, .... അധികാര സ്ഥാനം (🪑), പരിപാലിക്കേണ്ട സ്വന്തം ജോലി.

13. Hence, please don't care to be reasonable if you must. It doesn't effect me one bit. Please keep stretching your masses, catechism, events, .. like a never ending rubber band. Always keep everything focused on the church and never spare any effort to be atmost boring.

അതുകൊണ്ട്, ദയവായി ന്യായബോധമുള്ളവരായിരിക്കാൻ ശ്രമിക്കരുത്. അത് എന്നെ ഒരു തരത്തിലും ബാധിക്കുന്നില്ല. ദയവായി നിങ്ങളുടെ കുർബാനകൾ, മതബോധന ക്ലാസുകൾ, പരിപാടികൾ, ... ഒരിക്കലും അവസാനിക്കാത്ത റബ്ബർ ബാൻഡ് പോലെ നീട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോകുക. എപ്പോഴും എല്ലാം പള്ളിയിൽ ശ്രദ്ധ കേന്ദ്രീകരിക്കുക, നിങ്ങൾ ഏറ്റവും വിരസനാണെന്ന് ഉറപ്പാക്കുക.

14. You're digging your beloved church and your beloved community into a hole. Congratulations. Keep it up. Clap(👏👏👏👏)

16. I really don't yearn to size up our churches. Yet, I'll do exactly that if the present attitude continues. Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones at others. I rest my case here for this financial year. 🙏♥️♥️♥️

CLARIFICATION: 

I've no time for and no interest in Church politics and everything else that go with it.

 

എനിക്ക് സഭാ രാഷ്ട്രീയത്തിലും അതിനോടൊപ്പം വരുന്ന മറ്റെല്ലാ കാര്യങ്ങളിലും സമയവും താത്പര്യവുമില്ല.

 

I've been a liberal all my life. Also, everyone else who hail from my generation and went to local English(Latin) churches.

 

എന്റെ ജീവിതകാലം മുഴുവൻ ഞാൻ ഒരു ലിബറൽ ആയിരുന്നു. അതുപോലെ, എന്റെ തലമുറയിൽ നിന്നുള്ളവരും പ്രാദേശിക ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് (ലാറ്റിൻ) പള്ളികളിൽ പോയ മറ്റെല്ലാവരും ലിബറൽ ആയിരുന്നു.

 

As things stand, I see we're on a self-annihilation path. We're needleesly adopting the darkest shade of our religion. If that ain't bad enough, we're eagerly bringing in all kind of idol worship, superstition, mindless rituals and blindfaith in our fold in the name of culture.

സ്ഥിതി ഇങ്ങനെയാണെങ്കിൽ, നാം സ്വയം നാശത്തിന്റെ പാതയിലാണെന്ന് ഞാൻ കാണുന്നു. അനാവശ്യമായി നമ്മുടെ മതത്തിന്റെ ഏറ്റവും ഇരുണ്ട നിറം നാം സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നു. അതുമാത്രം പോരാഞ്ഞിട്ട്, സംസ്കാരത്തിന്റെ പേരിൽ എല്ലാത്തരം വിഗ്രഹാരാധനയും അന്ധവിശ്വാസവും വിവേകശൂന്യമായ ആചാരങ്ങളും അന്ധമായ വിശ്വാസവും നമ്മുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിലേക്ക് ഉത്സാഹത്തോടെ കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നു.

If the present trend continue, we'll soon cease to be a relevant community very-much like the Parsi community. Our churches would become deserted fortresses like the Parsi fire temples. Also, we'll only have ourselves to blame for it. Thank-you.

 

ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ പ്രവണത തുടരുകയാണെങ്കിൽ, നമ്മൾ താമസിയാതെ പ്രാധാന്യമില്ലാത്ത ഒരു സമൂഹമായി മാറും, ഏറെക്കുറെ പാഴ്സി സമൂഹത്തെയും അവരുടെ അഗ്നി ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളെയും പോലെ, അവ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ട കോട്ടകളായി മാറിയിരിക്കുന്നു, അതിന് നമ്മൾ നമ്മെത്തന്നെ കുറ്റപ്പെടുത്തേണ്ടിവരും. നന്ദി.

 

Finally, there couldn't have been a better way to accomplish the task(make our church see reason).

 

അവസാനമായി, ഈ ദൗത്യം (നമ്മുടെ സഭയെ കാര്യങ്ങൾ ബോധ്യപ്പെടുത്തുക) നിറവേറ്റാൻ ഇതിലും മികച്ച ഒരു മാർഗ്ഗമില്ലായിരുന്നു.
