Aloha, All, Thank you again for your support. I'm sure all of you have received your ballots for this year's Board of Directors Election. We are in a unique position this year as there are 4 seats available on the board. This is an opportunity for your voice to be heard, so please don't throw away your ballots or vote hastily. Personally, I am looking for board members who are willing to listen to all the members of the WVA rather than just marching forward with the status quo. I think we need to stop this divisive "against the golf course" vs. "for the golf course" mentality and remember that our goal is to promote Waikoloa Village and maintain our amenities in a fiscally responsible way that best serves all members. To that end, I would recommend that you vote for Doug Jones and Amy Newby (both are listed on the ballot) and write-in Amy Swan. I believe that these individuals are willing to carefully consider all sides and listen to what members have to say. All have voiced a desire to be fiscally responsible and to listen to members. This is only my opinion, which I am forwarding since some of you asked who I will be voting for. I don't have a fourth person to suggest as an additional write-in because I have yet to find another individual who is willing to serve on the board. Your ballots must be received by the Association Secretary, c/o League of Women Voters, in Kailua-Kona no later than 4:30 pm on Thursday, May 4, 2017. Also, please try to attend the annual meeting on Saturday, May 6 at 9:30am at the Waikoloa Elementary and Middle School. This is a further opportunity for you to express your opinion and vote on matters brought up at that meeting. If you cannot attend, please assign your proxy to an individual whom you know will attend rather than to the board of directors.
