For those of you who have not heard already, the WVA Board voted last night to increase the dues by $175 in 2017 (to $795 total) even after many members requested that the pool estimate be lowered or removed entirely in order to lower the dues increase. Here is a re-cap from another member of the voting that occurred: "Motion proposed by Sharon Jeffers to approve dues increase to $795. 2nd by Jim McCann and passed by a vote 4 to 3. Amy proposed decreasing pool budget from $2.2 million to $1.5 million. Beverly, Victor and Amy were the only ones to vote for this. Amy then motioned for $1.75 million instead of $2.2 million. I commend Amy, victor and Beverly for listening to the people." It has become clear that the only way we are going to change the direction of the board is by changing those on it. We are looking for candidates who would be interested in running for the board of directors and who share the vision of making Waikoloa Village a community that operates for the benefit of all members.
