Change the Culturally Offensive Name of "Chinaman's Hat" to "Dǒulì Hill"

The Issue

"Chinaman's Hat" is the official name of a hill on the eastern edge of Whiskey Dick Mountain in Colockum Pass, Kittitas County, Washington, Coordinates:  47.025406°N, -120.2525613°W.

The use of the term "Chinaman's Hat" is culturally derogatory and should be changed.  The geographical feature was so named as it resembled the Asian conical-style hat. In China, it is called dǒulì (斗笠), literally meaning a "one-dǒu bamboo hat", (笠帽, 竹笠).

As Washington State has already taken great strides in changing offensive cities, towns, and location names, WE HEREBY FORMALLY REQUEST that the Washington State Committee Geographic Names change the name of "Chinaman's Hat" to a more culturally appropriate "Dǒulì Hill," thereby paying greater respect to Chinese culture.
