All,
It is my pleasure to report that last night the school committee voted 4-1 to keep JMW independent of the new unified high school. Thanks to everyone who helped demonstrate the value of JMW to the city of Pawtucket.
While last night's vote was a great victory for JMW, it was also made clear that there is still work to be done. It will be years before the unified high school opens and several elections and new school committee members will have to opportunity to change course. It is great to know we have the support out there to address future challenges as they arise.
In the meantime, keep doing great things, and keep in touch. The future of JMW will always be tied to the success of its past and present. To all the JMW alumni and students, keep making our school, and our city, proud so that no one will ever want to eliminate such a special place.
Thanks again for all of your support.
