The American people need a mini-primary to help choose the next President of the United States. I am a father of three young adults. A group of my kids' friends watched the recent debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden. My 18-year-old daughter was alternating between laughing and seriously asking, "Is the real? Is this really the choices that I have the first time I vote for President? It can't be!"

Whether you voted for President Joe Biden or former President Donald Trump in 2020, about half the country agrees with you. But I am confident a solid majority would rather have another choice. And it's not RFK, Jr., sorry. A vote for a third party candidate is a vote for the major party candidate you want least. We can do better. We must do better...for my kids and for everyone kids and for everyone else in America.

We need a mini-primary that lets a group of Democratic candidates make their case that they should be the next President of the United States. Democratic strategist James Carville argued for this (https://www.nytimes.com/2024/07/08/opinion/biden-democratic-nominee.html) and Congressman James Clyburn expressed interest in this idea, as well as many others. You might say, "But President Biden has not dropped out?" He shouldn't! President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris would be the first two candidates invited to participate. This is the chance Joe Biden has been wanting. He can make his case to the nation and silence his critics. Or he might decide after participating that he will not seek re-election. This gives everyone a chance and a choice. Please vote for this petition and send it to everyone you know. I am one regular citizen appealing to as many people as will listen. Thank you!
