The East San Jose Community is already an underserved population. They will be directly affected by the closure of the Trauma, Comprehensive Stroke, and STEMI Programs at Regional Medical Center (RMC).  

At present RMC has a highly accomplished Trauma Team, has one of three Comprehensive Stroke Centers in the county, and an experienced cardiac program team including on-call STEMI Cardiologist, Cath Lab personnel, Cardiothoracic Surgeon , Vascular Surgeon , and Emergency Department physician.

Closing these programs will significantly impact Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (SCVMC), RMC serves 25% of all reported trauma cases in Santa Clara County. Longer travel time can severely impact patient outcome for  Trauma, Stroke, and STEMI patients.

RMC is set to close these services on August 12, 2024. We need to act now, sign this petition in support of keeping these programs running.
