As we celebrate 250 years of American Independence 🇺🇸, we believe this would be the perfect time to claim our spot in American History as the true "Birthplace of America". Since 1607, Virginia has been undeniably instrumental in the building of our great country.  

From Jamestown, the first permanent English settlement in what we now call the United States of America, to the victorious battle at Yorktown, where we won the our Independence. 

From George Washington, our first Commander and Chief, to Thomas Jefferson, who wrote the Declaration of Independence. 📜

These historical facts, just to name a few, reflects Virginia and its glorious place in American History. We believe by adopting a new state slogan we can show the world who we really are. Promoting Virginia as the place where America began, will bring a new pride to our state like no other. It will bring a new awareness to Virginia and American History in a whole. It will also increase tourism and bring more economic development to the state as people rediscover Virginia and it historical significance all over again. We can use the VA250 to reintroduce Virginia to the world, so that they will never forget our place in American History ever again.  

Virginia is the roots of American History, and as we go into the future of Celebrating 250 years of Independence, we should recognize Virginia's significant role in shaping our great country by adopting the new slogan.
