A Sad Day It is with a heavy heart that I tell you that we have lost in the House. The committee voted to combine the bill with SB96 which applied the Graham standards to geriatric parole at age 60. My Delegate once told me that geriatric release was nothing more than an escape hatch for the state if a prisoner became too expensive to house. That means that Virginia will hold on to juvenile lifers until the day that they die in prison unless they are too old and their medical expenses are too much for the DOC to pay. So Senator Wagner and Marsden agreed to withdraw the bill and re-introduce it in 2019. I know that you all have worked to hard to win this battle and no one has more respect for you than I for that. I have been in the trenches with you every step of the way, but this is a battle and not the war. I will not rest until Kelly goes home. I ask that you continue to pray and keep a kind though for Kelly in your hearts. God bless, Bill
