Hello, Everyone! July is fast approaching and I anticipate Senator Marsden resubmitting his bill to abolish juvenile life without parole, as is his habit. Time and again he has submitted this bill and time and again it has died in committee. This time, I will do all that I can to prevent that from happening. But in order to do that, I need your help. The Chairman of the criminal laws subcommittee, Delegate Rob Bell, has traditionally blocked the passage of this measure and allowed it to die before it ever got to the floor for a vote. If Delegate Bell is going to prevent those who have truly reformed a second chance, he should at least know who he's blocking. Kelly Anne is imprisoned in his district and I don't believe it to be unreasonable for him to meet with her and get to know her as a human being so that he can put a face to Senator Marsden's bill. I have spoken with Kelly and she has agreed to meet with him. I have also issued a call for her supporters on Facebook to email Delegate Bell and ask him to meet with her and make his own judgment about her. What I need you to do is to add your voice to this initiative. Write Delegate Bell and ask him to meet with her and find out who she is. Tell him why she deserves a second chance. Kelly has spent twenty-three years in prison for crimes committed as a juvenile, but she left that troubled girl behind years ago. She has grown into a mature and good woman that deserves a second chance.
