At their February retreat, Virginia Beach City Council decided not to pursue the purchase of Pleasant Hall in Historic Kempsville citing funding as the main issue.  The sellers of Pleasant Hall are currently in negotiations with a private buyer, a church. Council member Jessica Abbott spoke with the future owners and was told “that they were interested in doing a partnership with the community and potentially the city. Once the sale is final we are going to work on forming an outreach committee”.  Mrs. Abbott relayed that the new owners want to be good neighbors.
