My name is Zoey Helle-Kuczynski, I am a senior-level Girl Scout in troop 1039, a freshman at Bartlett High School, and a Bartlett, Illinois resident. For my gold award project, I want to build a bike path on the east side of Route 59 that would connect the built bike trail on Schick Road to Stearns Road, including many neighborhoods and local businesses.

This path would connect to our subdivision and nearby neighborhoods since we have no other attachment to other places except a cross walk on Route 59, which is dangerous for young kids going out to play. My family and many others go out for walks, runs, and bike rides, and a new path would let us:

• go explore other areas or Bartlett
• my friends and I can walk to the local high school
• go to other shops and restaurants nearby (when it is safe to do so)

When this new trail is built, it will allow others in the community to stay active and healthy while appreciating the nature around them. Finally, not only will it help our neighborhoods, but the community surrounding us.
