Exciting Community Update! March 25, 2025

I am happy to share news from this morning’s Chelan/Douglas County Port Authority meeting. After hearing additional testimonies and reviewing a presentation of over 350 signatures of support, the Port and Link Transit have voted to rescind their purchase and sale agreement for 91 Wapato Way, Manson.

This means the community group purchase can now proceed to closing! We are one step closer to transforming this treasured property into a public space/park for the residents and visitors of Manson.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed—whether by signing the petition, sending emails, sharing your vision, or testifying about your memories and hopes for downtown Manson. Your support made this possible!

We also want to express our appreciation to the Port and Link Transit for listening to our community and recognizing the immense value this space holds. 

We believe this is a huge victory for Manson and a testament to the power of community action. The next steps will involve finalizing the purchase and planning how to best develop the space to benefit everyone.
