At this time the lift at Viking Bay is operational and is being used by all who need it. I have spoken to many people who are so pleased that access has been restored but are concerned that it is only for the summer season. All would like to see the lift open all year so access is there for all.

The lift at Ramsgate remains closed with no update from Thanet District Council. I was contacted by TDC after asking the new leader of TDC for an update but had no response after two weeks. Therefore I emailed again and was told I could have a meeting with three councillors on a day this week. Sadly no date or contact made so no meeting.However I’ve been told by a source that the likelihood of the lifts opening permanently is highly unlikely and the lift at Ramsgate is still subject of debate with no positive update at this time. I hope I will be able to give you a better update when I have the meeting. But I will continue to have the lifts open for all throughout the year. 

I think this is going to continue for some considerable time. I thank you all for the support you have given. Can I ask if you feel as strongly as I do that you email Cllr Ash Ashbee the new head of TDC and ask what is happening to the lifts at Viking Bay and Ramsgate and mention this campaign.
