I am looking at starting Australia's 1st Cyberknife cancer charity. If anyone has experience in this area please contact me. A Cyberknife charity can begin directly helping many cancer patients today. My aim is to get Cyberknife into hospitals in every state and territory in Australia. I also need to raise awareness of Cyberknife's availability in Australia as many patients and medical professionals are unaware it is available and are not aware of the referral process. I have achieved a lot in my time campaigning on my own but now need assistance.
Successes to date: I have had 3 Cyberknife centres approved. Perth is open. Melbournes has stalled. Á Darwin facility is to be built thanks to positive discussions with Gina Rinehart. I have ambassadors in Victoria, SA, QLD and NT. I have a team already assisting with fundraising ideas, Cyberknife information and assistance for patients and medical practitioners.
Why Cyberknife? Its robotic and sub millimetre accurate. Usually only takes 1 day of treatment (but may take up to 5). No drugs or surgery so few side effects. It can treat many inoperable cancers. This is a vital tool for the future of cancer care in this country.
