Leah had 1 day of Gamma Knife for 9 brain tumours in 2004. No ill effects. Effective. Leah returned to work a few days later. We were amazed after no treatment options were available for her in Australia. Leah began her quest to get Gamma Knife to Australia (we didnt know of cyberknife at this stage) Gamma Knife has been around for decades. However it can only treat the brain (and what a job its capable of). Leah did radio, newspaer and TV interviews. She was on the Bert Newton show telling her story. People were amazed but couldnt access Gamma Knife. We finally got 1 in Sydney, in a Private hospital in 2010. Now Brisbane is to install it in a Public hospital. We are finally catching up but we have a long way to go.
