Dear Supporters, We have been working hard since our last update to raise awareness in Victoria about the inhumane and exploitative horse carriage industry. With new videos of inhumane care, outreach events, and demonstrations we continue to hold the carriage companies accountable for putting these animals in the streets with traffic. We are proud to announce that thanks to the generosity of a local donor we have been able to purchase a billboard space on Highway 17 to help raise awareness with tourists before they get downtown from the ferries and elsewhere. We are so gratefully for this opportunity and wanted to get back to sharing this good news with our supporters. While this is great news, the reality is that we must be more vigilant than ever with the horse carriages as the busiest part of tourist season is now upon us. In fact, the same day the billboard went up we captured a video of a horse in distress in downtown Victoria. This is not an uncommon sight, but one that is rare to catch on video.
