Revaluation of Nov/Dec Examinations, Delhi University

Subject: Blanket reduction in marks of students for Nov/Dec semester
We are writing to you with regards to our Nov/Dec results, which were released. We are deeply concerned with the blanked reduction in marks of all students, and a huge dip in the average marks.
After our results were declared by the University of Delhi, the structural and peculiar facilities of our education system have come out. The University has been callous and oblivious to the struggles that the students will have to face because of the faulty education system along with the impacts of the pandemic.
First, the average result of all students has drastically stopped, many students receiving as low as 2 grade points below usual. This clearly states how there has been an error in the checking, and a blanket reduction in marks of all students. In a scenario where evaluation would have been carried out properly, this would not have taken place. The students cannot be responsible for a mass drop in the scores.
Secondly, most students, unsatisfied with their scores are unable to file for revaluation due to the inaccessible methods provided by the Dean of Examinations in the Notification dated 10th May, 2020. Not all students have access to internet, printers, scanners and all their essential documents (Admit Cards, ID's, etc) especially due to the nation wide lockdown and the pandemic, vast number of students are facing financial difficulties as well. The last date of submission, 26th May also gives a very short period to students even if the lockdown is lifted. The revaluation fee of RS. 1,000 is absurd and out of reach of many in a time where households are losing their incomes. In addition, Admit Cards along with ID Card's have been made mandatory to apply, increasing the misery of students amidst the lockdown.
We demand that all students have access to revaluation, where there is not just a re-totalling of marks but also rechecking. The revaluation process must be made free of charge. There should also be an extension of deadline for the submission of revaluation forms.
Mass failure of students is a mass failure of the University!
