Veterans helping our children!

The Issue

I feel as though we can all agree it’s a very scary time in our country. It seems like we can’t go to the store, the movies, or anywhere in public without looking over our shoulder at this point. This is the new normal unfortunately for us. Let me tell you what I feel needs to be top priority to change.

Our kids need protection. I am genuinely terrified to send my children to school. Of course we are worried about their grades and bullying. You know? Everyday kid stuff. BUT NOW we have to worry about them never coming home because they may be murdered. Our poor innocent children just trying to do the very thing we SENT THEM to do. Not because they want to but because it’s required.

We have to have the children because of abortion laws now. We have to send them to school because of truancy. There are 700 different laws that protect our children from us (the parents) but what about the third parties we send them to? I feel like we need to speak up and DEMAND that our children are going to be safe when we send them to school.

This is my proposal. It should be mandatory for schools/the state to employ a number of officers to work at the school. They obviously need armed guards. One guard for every 5,000 square feet or something to that effect.

I believe that veterans should also be able to be employed by the school/state to do the same thing. So many vets come out of the service and spend years trying to figure out life and their purpose. Of course they would need to be vetted to make sure they are of sound mind. Too many suffer without proper help but that’s another petition to start.

I also feel as though each school needs a certain amount of equipment added to each and every room for the children's safety. Barricades for doors and shields. Whatever we can get to them to make sure that they are prepared. Telling students to hide in a corner with an unarmed teacher as a meat shield is NOT the answer.

Every time this happens we yell GUN LAWS. While I understand that this is also just as important . . . I know this is a very long drawn out battle and probably always will be. Let’s get together and fight for our children’s right to come home safe to their families. They’re the ones paying the price for a bunch of adults that cannot come to an agreement.

Please sign this petition and let our voices be heard. We cannot stand by and allow our children to be slaughtered anymore.

I don’t care if we need to have the school budgets increased or if they need to cut down on sports costs. This is a thing that needs to happen. Our children’s lives are not worth whatever was deemed important prior to these mass shootings. Let’s not stand around and wait to see who is next. Let’s make that be known!
