Provide the same medical treatment to veterans in the Philippines that is provided at any other VA medical facility in the United States.

The Issue

There are over 7,000 U.S. military veterans living in the Philippines. A budget needs to be passed to provide the VA medical center in Manila the same funding as any other VA in the U.S. so that veterans do not have to come out of pocket for services and hope to be reimbursed months later. These veterans served along side of all veterans receiving treatment in the US and deserve the same benefits. There is no justifiable reason why this VA should not be able to treat all medical conditions even non service related just as the VA medical centers in the U.S. do. The funding is available and should be provided. The VA clinic has been in operation in Manila for almost 100 years and this change is long overdue.
