The Issue
This petition is to support The Sunshine Protection Act, eliminating the act of changing our clocks twice a year.
On March 6, 2019, Rep. Vern Buchanan introduced The Sunshine Protection Act of 2019 (HR 1556), "To make daylight savings time permanent, and for other purposes." [Dates and bill number edited 4/23/19 to reflect the current Congress' legislation.]
This bill has been referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, chaired by Rep. Greg Walden. Reps. Joe Barton and Frank Mallone are ranking members of the committee.
It is long overdue that legislation like this has been passed, and we, the undersigned, ask the Energy Committee members to send this legislation, unaltered, to be voted on by the House.
