Change Upfront Money Policies For Emergencies On Animal Care
The Issue
An emergency speaks for itself. Why would emergency animal care clinics expect you to have 600 700 dollars when you only trying to see care for your animal? On December 30th 2014 our family dog, Marley, was attacked. We took him to a VCA clinic in Victorville CA. When there the Vet told us that Marley was going to be okay and kept overnight...30 minutes later we discover they have not the started the treatmet. Shocked we asked why our pup has not received any treament yet. The front desk then tells us that they can not begin helping until the full 680$ is paid upfront...long story short they would not let us leave the hospital to get the money needed for treament because of another "policy" instilled. Without the money upfront needed to pay for Marley's blood transfusion and the unablity to leave and get the money, Marley died the same day. I hope to change this policy of all Veterinary Clinics so we can,in hopes, save other pets of the future. Hopefully new policies can be made to help animals in an emergency
