PLEASE DO NOT DONATE TO THIS PETITION. Barbara Howard played a big role in the Strathcona community. She even taught at our school, Lord Strathcona, as well as Britannia high school. She was a Black female athlete and the first Black woman to be hired by the Vancouver School Board and we think that her name would be more fit than Lord Strathcona. Lord Strathcona didn't have any real contribution to the community, as he was a European colonist, and Barbara Howard is an inspiration to us all, and she still has a positive impact on our community. We hope that members of the community and Vancouver citizens will agree. Please sign this petition so we can have a school in our community named after someone meaningful. Thank you.
