Did you know that currently no police officers or sheriff’s deputies in the Clark County wear body cameras? Body camera video allows both the police and the public to better understand police interactions. With appropriate and effective policies to govern their use and video storage, cameras protect citizens from unjustified force by police, and protect officers who are doing their job properly. Every police officer in Clark County should be using a body camera. We ask our Vancouver City Council, Clark County Council and all other cities in our county to implement this straightforward and common-sense tool now. It’s an investment in our community that benefits all of us. We can't afford to wait.
