VACAVILLE RESIDENTS FOR RESPONSIBLE DEVELOPMENT
The Issue
***Who Can Sign?
You do not have to be a resident of Vacaville to sign this petition. Anyone who supports responsible development in Lagoon Valley and believes this proposal deserves careful review is welcome to add their name.
Residents, neighboring communities, visitors, commuters, travelers, and anyone concerned about preserving the character, safety, and quality of this area are encouraged to participate. Every signature demonstrates that this issue matters to people beyond a single neighborhood. ***
We support responsible commercial development that serves residents and visitors. We question whether a 24-hour gas station, convenience store, truck fueling operation, and vehicle service center is the most appropriate use for this location.
This discussion is not about opposing growth. Vacaville continues to grow, and thoughtfully planned commercial services are an important part of that growth.
Our concern is whether a facility operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week—with fueling operations, commercial vehicle traffic, convenience retail, and vehicle service bays—is compatible with the surrounding area and the long-term vision for this part of Vacaville.
Residents have raised concerns regarding traffic impacts, pedestrian safety, nighttime noise, lighting, air quality, environmental impacts, and the compatibility of this use with nearby homes, recreation areas, trails, and preserved open space.
We encourage City leaders to carefully evaluate whether this proposal represents the highest and best use of this site and whether alternative commercial uses could better serve the community while minimizing adverse impacts.
We support responsible development. We support local businesses. We support thoughtful planning that protects the qualities that make Vacaville a desirable place to live, work, and visit.
