To Change Virginia's current Legislation & Policy regarding Policing in Virginia

To Change Virginia's current Legislation & Policy regarding Policing in Virginia
The Issue
In May 2020, George Floyd, an unarmed black man was violently murdered on camera by a wreckless Minnesota police officer.
This is the latest development of violent police crimes committed against unarmed persons of color in the United States.
Did you know that currently in Virginia, police officers cannot lose their certifications due to misconduct? Together, we can work to ensure this doesn't continue to happen in Virginia.
We as Virginians seek to obtain YOUR PUBLIC SUPPORT for the below Agenda for Reform to Virginia legislation and policies regarding such Policing practices.
We also request the state-wide support of local district's Chief of Police, Sheriff, and local persecutor's for legislative or policy changes needed to implement the Seven Proposals for Reform outlined in ACLU's report: "Accountability in Virginia Policing- Agenda for Reform."
ACLU'S Agenda for Reform in Virginia Policing practices & legislation overview:
1) Enhancing Professionalism of Police & Police departments-
Currently in VA, a police officer cannot lose his/her police officer certification due to misconduct. This reform proposes a police "licencing" requirement similar to a doctor, lawyer or other certified professionals and a more citizen-accountable process.
2) Ending policing of low-level offenses-
so as to avoid escalations or police officers using such actions to justify intended actions to find evidence of a higher crime.
3) Implement unified, state-wide standards for Use-of-Force and Body Cam practices
4) Abolish policing for profit
5) Establish Civilian Authority over Policing
6) Create Independent Prosecutorial Unit funded by the State
7) Require transparency from the Police & Police Departments
