Implement ‘No Detriment Policy’ for University of Gloucestershire Students

Implement ‘No Detriment Policy’ for University of Gloucestershire Students
The Issue
This is a worrying time for us all and a lot has changed. We are all having to adapt to a new way of living and trying to juggle our own physical and mental well-being with looking after those we love and just trying to process new information 24/7.
Many of you have already signed circulating petitions regarding marking changes to the marking systems at UoG amid the Covid 19 crisis, however this petition is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT as it addresses the need to implement a ‘no detriment policy’ for the remainder of the term.
For those of you who are unsure of what a ‘no detriment policy’ means, the University of Exeter explain it as follows:
“As long as students obtain the pass mark of 40 in further assessments, such as coursework and summer exams, their average will remain the same as, or higher than, the average they have attained up to when the University closed. If students achieve higher than their current average in further assessments, then they can still raise their final mark.”
Universities that have already implemented this policy/are campaigning for it are:
- Warwick
- Exeter
- Edinburgh
- Southampton
- Cardiff
- Sheffield
- Leeds
- Kings College London
And many more!
It is VITAL that as many people sign and share this petition as possible in order to bring out what we deserve. We are only being asked for fair and equal treatment in line with what other universities have organised for their students.
