As life slowly begins to return to normal in the great state of Utah, there are many more obstacles to overcome and I am confident that the leaders we entrust will make the right decisions. Businesses have gone under and lives have been permanently altered due to an unfortunate pandemic, but there are lights to be seen in such a dark period in our lives. 

This year, thousands of hard-working students have persevered through their formative years at Utah State University and have proven their mettle and have found success in the face of adversity upon qualifying for their degrees. Sadly, those same students who dreamed of the day they would get to walk the stage in triumph will no longer be able to. Through no fault of their own they will not even be able to participate in this walk, some of which are first-generation Americans. Others are the first in their families to achieve a degree in pursuit of higher education. 

I implore you, to find a way to allow these students to celebrate what will be for most of them, their greatest and most fond memory. These students deserve something in recognition of such a momentous achievement.
