Postal mail is a health risk, as it is a distribution mechanism for viruses. A significant portion of bulk mail is unsolicited and unwanted and we now understand this is also a threat to health for everyone in the postal supply chain.

This is a petition to create a law requiring QR codes on postal mail labels to enable easily unsubscribing from junk mail.

This will provide the following benefits:

• Improved health security for postal employees and mail recipients.
• Cost savings and improved ROI (return on investment) for mailers due to reduction in unread mail.
• Preserves the ability to send bulk mail to those that do not opt out.
• Reduced paper usage and tree harvesting.
• Reduced vehicle traffic congestion, fuel usage and air pollution with reduced mail delivery.
• Reduced waste management requirements for processing delivered mail.
• Reduce global climate change through reduced waste, pollution, and tree harvesting.
