Create a Commemorative Postage Stamp Honoring Mary Fields

The Issue

To help celebrate Black History Month & publicly honor Mary Fields (aka "Stagecoach Mary"), the second woman and the first African American woman to work for the US Postal Service

This stamp would celebrate women and African American women in particular and highlight their crucial (yet often forgotten) role in history.

Background: my stepdaughter and I were reading a book called "Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls 2" which highlights the stories of women throughout history and their accomplishments and we came across Mary Fields.  I wanted to show my stepdaughter how she was commemorated by the US Postal Service for her dedication (she never missed a day of work!) and low and behold - found nothing.  Hopefully this will just be a case of "better late than never" - let's work together to ensure that Mary Fields receives the credit and recognition that she deserves.
