The harvest of Cobia for recreational anglers for 2017 is closed from Georgia to New York and will not re-open until 2018 at the earliest. Due to the fact that we know the data is flawed, that angler reports do not reflect the data used, and that angler access to healthy fisheries is imperative to coastal economies, we ask that the Secretary of Commerce take emergency action to suspend the closure until reliable data can be acquired.
