Urging Microsoft to Extend Their Support Date for Windows 10

Urging Microsoft to Extend Their Support Date for Windows 10
The Issue
I am writing as a concerned IT professional with a vested interest, not just in the technological advancement, but in maintaining a safe and secure digital environment. Microsoft's decision to end support for Windows 10 in October 2025 raises significant concerns. A large number of machines around the globe still rely on Windows 10, many of which are unable to support the new Windows 11 due to their older make. This decision, therefore, threatens to leave millions of devices unprotected, thereby creating a potential global security risk.
Despite Microsoft’s attempts to aid individuals and organizations in transitioning to Windows 11, there is a reality that needs to be considered - a significant number of devices will remain 'unsupported' past that October 2025 deadline, with owners either unable or unwilling to upgrade. This is not just an inconvenience, it's a pressing security issue that needs addressing.
Statistics highlight that as of April 2020, Windows 10 is still operating on 1 billion machines worldwide, furthering the point that this is a massive, widespread issue (Source: Microsoft). Each of those billion devices represents potential access points for hackers and other malicious activities if left without the necessary security updates that Microsoft provides.
For the sake of digital safety and in consideration of the reliance on older devices, we call on Microsoft to extend their support for Windows 10 beyond the current date. Acting responsibly means not just pushing for innovation, but also ensuring the security of its users globally. Sign the petition to urge Microsoft to re-evaluate its decision to end Windows 10 support.
