Despite this conviction, Ryan Friesen is now living freely in Canada.

Femicide is not a technicality. It is the killing of a woman because she is a woman. When a conviction for femicide is ignored or allowed to lose force across borders, justice fails, not only Kiara, but every woman at risk.
