We, the undersigned, are parents, students, and concerned community members of Elm Creek School in Elm Creek Manitoba. We respectfully submit this petition to request urgent construction of a new gymnasium at our school and an urgent inspection from provincial building engineers to ensure the gym is fit for use in the meantime (including air quality, structure and safety).

Our current gymnasium has poor air quality, heaving floors with dead spots, change rooms are too small to accommodate class sizes, ceiling leaks, stairs are unsafe, electrical outlets are failing, to small for school events and safe play, water issues in the spring, no place for spectators and has excessive amount of dust from HVAC creating slippery floor conditions.

This limits the ability to deliver comprehensive physical education, host extracurricular activities, and support the health and well-being of our students.

We urge the Prairie Rose School Division to consider this petition and dedicate to working with stakeholders to secure the necessary steps to build a new, fully equipped gymnasium at Elm Creek School as soon as possible. We appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to your support in investing in the future of Elm Creek School Students.
