The Kailash - Mansarovar Yatra is organised by Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India every year from June to September through two separate routes - Lipulekh Pass (Uttarakhand), and Nathu-La Pass (Sikkim) through a fair computer-generated lottery, random, gender-balanced selection process.

Kailash Manasarovar Yatra (KMY) is known for its religious value, cultural significance. It is undertaken by hundreds of people every year. Holding significance for Hindus as the abode of Lord Shiva, it holds religious importance also for the Jains and the Buddhists. 

The Kailash Parvat or Mount Kailash is 6,638 m (21,778 ft) high peak along with the holy Mansarovar lake is an integral part of Hindu mythology and religious beliefs. The sacred blue and emerald green Mansarovar lake lies about 20 km from Mount Kailash at a height of 15,015 ft.

Every year number of pilgrims go for this Yatra from Telangana state. An average cost of yatra for a person is estimated to range around Rs 2.5 lakh. As most pilgrims are unable to afford the amount, I request Telangana state government to support with financial grant. This financial grant will encourage pilgrimage to Kailash Mansarovar - A Lifetime Journey.

There are many states including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Uttarakhand, where the governments give financial aid to these pilgrims.
