URGENT: Help Adelaide Pastry Chef + Dad Luca Bonavoglia Get Permanent Residency.
The issue
*PLEASE NOTE: DONATIONS DON’T GO TO LUCA’S FAMILY, IT GOES TO CHANGE.ORG*
To the Honourable Minister for Immigration, Tony Burke,
This is urgent.
In just weeks, Adelaide father Luca Bonavoglia faces being forced out of the country he has called home for nearly 16 years, a country where he has built his life, raised his children, and contributed every single day.
Luca is not just a name on a visa. He is a father of three daughters, including a baby, a small business owner who runs Dolceria By Luca in the heart of Croydon Queen Street, and a valued member of the Adelaide community. Through his café, Dolceria by Luca, he has created more than a business, he has created connection, culture, and community on our beloved Queen Street.
His daughters, Sofia (16), Gaia (12), and 16-month-old Emmanuela, know Australia as their home. The thought of their father being taken away from them, or their lives being uprooted, is heartbreaking and unjust.
Luca has done everything asked of him. He has worked hard, paid taxes, and invested over $200,000 into trying to secure his future here, asking only for the chance to stay with his family.
Now, after all of that, he has been told to leave by April 21.
This is not just policy — this is a real family facing separation.
Australia stands for fairness, compassion, and giving people a fair go. Deporting a man who has given so much to this country goes against those values.
We cannot let this happen quietly.
We urgently call on the Minister to stop Luca Bonavoglia’s deportation, intervene in his case with compassion and fairness, and allow him to remain in Australia with his family.
Time is running out. Every signature matters.
Do the right thing. Keep this family together.
