Urgent fee and enrollment relief for LMU students affected by Nepal floods
The Issue
Nepal is currently grappling with a severe humanitarian crisis. Catastrophic flash floods and glacial debris flows along the Trishuli River basin have wrought unimaginable havoc—over 30,000 people have been displaced, thousands of homes destroyed, and crucial banking and communication services rendered completely inaccessible.
In the wake of this disaster, international and returning Nepalese students at London Metropolitan University (LMU) find themselves in dire straits. Many families back home have lost their livelihoods overnight or are physically blocked from processing international bank transfers, leaving students unable to meet tuition deadlines, pay enrolment deposits, or cover immediate living expenses.
We urge the governing bodies of London Metropolitan University—including the Income Collection Office, Admissions Office, and Students' Union—to act with swift compassion. Decisions made now will shape these students' futures.
