In the news From Keepin' It Real.
13 months ago, a 34 year old male stole a car. Judge Cogliati released him to pretrial own recognizance. A year ago, he was cited and released by SO Deputies for possession of a controlled substance...
From October of 2023 to January 24, he was contacted no less than 4 times for various offenses (drugs mostly). SO Deputies cited and released him every time.
In February, 2024, he was cited and released for possession of a controlled substance.
All these cases are active. Most haven’t even been arraigned yet because he fails to appear in court. So why continue down the path of cite and release that requires a promise to appear?
SO Deputies arrested him on 4 warrants today, and took him to jail. Bail amount is $15,000.00. Had cash bail been enforced throughout, all these law enforcement contacts could have been avoided, and Taxpayers would have been spared the expense. (SO Case# 2500234 Booking# B-614391)
Thank you Sheriff's Deputies.
