Urgent Community Concerns: Increased Traffic and Proposed School Construction on Wren Aven

The Issue

As stakeholders deeply invested in the well-being of our community, we want to bring to your attention a pressing concern regarding increased traffic issues on Wren Avenue. This project not only threatens our homes but also endangers people safety and the precious green space that makes our community in Manchester, MO so unique. Our Manchester residences are currently grappling with additional traffic challenges that compound the existing problems in our neighborhood.

Furthermore we acknowledge and appreciate the importance of education. However, we believe there are alternative solutions that can meet educational needs without sacrificing our green space. Green spaces are vital for both mental and physical health. According to studies from the University of Exeter Medical School, people living closer to nature have reduced levels of stress and increased physical activity (source: University of Exeter Medical School research).

We urge you to carefully consider the impact of this proposed school construction on the already strained traffic conditions. As residents, we are deeply invested in maintaining the safety, tranquility, and overall livability of our community. Constructing a third school on Wren Avenue without addressing the existing traffic issues could intensify the challenges we currently face.

The addition of another school on Wren Avenue would increase traffic congestion significantly. Already with two schools in close proximity, residents already experience daily traffic issues during drop-off and pick-up times.

We urge you to consider other locations for this new school or explore options such as expanding existing facilities rather than encroaching upon our cherished green space.

Please join us in protecting our neighborhood's character and quality of life by signing this petition against Parkway School District constructing a third school on Wren Avenue.
