​We, the undersigned residents and property owners of the Mill Brook Community in Valley Stream, New York, petition the Town of Hempstead Board to take action regarding the new developments in our neighborhood.
​We are concerned that the current construction practices, which do not align with the established aesthetics of our community, are negatively impacting our property values and quality of life. Furthermore, the minimal amount of greenery and permeable surfaces in these new developments poses a significant risk of worsening street flooding, which is already a recurring problem for residents.
​The Town of Hempstead Building Department regulations may be met, but they do not fully address the unique character and long-term well-being of our community. We believe a collaborative effort is needed to ensure future development is both aesthetically harmonious and environmentally responsible.
