We, the students of NEET UG 2026, respectfully request the National Testing Agency (NTA) to review and lower the NEET UG 2026 qualifying cutoff.

In recent years, the General category qualifying cutoff was around 162 marks in 2024 and 144 marks in 2025. Based on these recent trends, many students expected the 2026 qualifying cutoff to remain in a similar range. However, the announced cutoff of 213 marks has come as a huge shock and is far beyond what many aspirants expected.
Thousands of hardworking students have become ineligible because of this unexpectedly high cutoff. Many of us were hoping to participate in counselling and, if we did not secure a seat in India, keep the option of pursuing MBBS abroad. The current qualifying cutoff has closed that possibility for many students.
This has caused immense stress, anxiety, and trauma. Students are losing confidence in the examination process because such a large increase in the qualifying cutoff was not anticipated.
If thousands of students remain unqualified this year, many of them will be forced to prepare for NEET again. This could significantly increase competition in the next examination cycle and create even greater pressure on future aspirants.

We humbly request NTA to reconsider and lower the NEET UG 2026 qualifying cutoff after reviewing the concerns of lakhs of affected students. Even a reasonable reduction would allow many deserving candidates to participate in counselling and preserve opportunities to pursue medical education in India or abroad.

Thankyou
