The Issue

Respected Sir/Madam,

We, the students of Class 12 CBSE Board Examination 2026, wish to raise serious concerns regarding this year’s evaluation process and unexpectedly low marks awarded to a large number of students. Many academically strong students have scored far below expectations, and several even failed despite consistent performance throughout the year. Additionally, different question paper sets were clearly unequal in difficulty, with some sets containing lengthy and JEE-level application-based questions that went beyond normal board standards.

Students are also concerned that despite the introduction of the On Screen Marking (OSM), there was no visible benefit in terms of moderation, fair balancing, or transparency, especially when the results were declared around the same timeline as previous years. There has been no proper clarification regarding moderation or grace marks policy despite major differences in paper difficulty across sets, which has created confusion and disappointment among students nationwide.

Therefore, we sincerely request CBSE to conduct a fair and transparent re-evaluation process, clarify the moderation and grace marks policy followed this year, and ensure that students affected by difficult sets or strict checking receive proper consideration. The future of lakhs of students depends on these results, and we hope CBSE will take necessary steps to maintain fairness, trust, and equal opportunity for all students!
