State Violence Against Unarmed Women at Adiala Jail

Today, outside Adiala Jail, General Asim Munir’s regime ordered ruthless water cannon attacks on the peaceful, unarmed sisters and female supporters of Imran Khan who had gathered solely to demand their legal right to meet their brother and leader, Prime Minister Imran Khan who is currently held in cruel solitary confinement.  

This barbaric assault on Pakistani women outside Adiala Jail is a new low in the military regime’s systematic campaign of terror against its own citizens.  

We demand:  

• Immediate international condemnation of the water cannon attack on unarmed women outside Adiala Jail  
• Urgent intervention to grant Imran Khan’s sisters and family their lawful visitation rights  
• Independent investigation into today’s state violence against peaceful female protesters  
• The immediate release of Imran Khan and an end to all political repression

The world must not stay silent while Pakistani women, and law abiding peaceful citizens are being attacked on daily basis for the past 4 years.
