Eid is nearly over. Maryam spent it in pain and alone.

Today was Eid, and while children around the world celebrated with their families, Maryam spent it separated from the other children, sitting alone, covered in a painful rash that her weakened immune system cannot fight.

She is 9 years old. She is immunocompromised. The rash, which may be scabies or a severe allergic reaction caused by the conditions she is living in, is contagious. So she was kept apart. On Eid. Imagine suffering this at Christmas. While other children played.

This is Maryam's 6th Eid in displacement. She was 5 years old when this started. She is itching, she is in pain, and she has no access to proper medical care. Here is a photo of Maryam when she was about 1 years old. Thereon her childhood was snatched away from her.

No child should spend Eid like this. No child should spend any day like this.

Maryam needs to be evacuated. She needs to be somewhere safe, with medical care, where her immune system can be treated and protected.
