📢 FULL UPDATE LETTER

Apologies for the delay in sharing an update so much has happened, and the family has been in relentless crisis.

Last week, Maryam’s family nearly drowned in the floods. Their tents were completely destroyed, their belongings swept away, and they were left once again without shelter, stability, or safety.

This week, tragedy struck again. The entire family became severely ill from food and water poisoning, caused by contamination in the limited resources available to them. Several family members approached sepsis and needed urgent medical treatment, IV fluids, antibiotics, and ongoing care.

Their medical bills for this week alone have reached approximately £2,000, an impossible amount for a family trapped in a warzone with no income and no protection.

And through all of this, Maryam still needs treatment abroad. Still fragile.

Still approved for evacuation by WHO, yet still trapped inside Gaza.

This is day 90 since 8 September 2025, the day Maryam Dawas was officially approved on the WHO evacuation list.

And it is day 792 since the day her illness began… the day her tiny body started a battle no child should ever face.

Day 90 of an evacuation that exists only on paper.

Day 792 of pain, hunger, fractures, contamination, and fear.

Day 792 of a little girl waiting for adults, governments, institutions, humanity itself, to finally save her.

How is it possible that a child, approved for evacuation, is still trapped?

How can nations with unimaginable power allow an eight-year-old to deteriorate like this in the most appalling conditions, while the world watches and scrolls past?

Where are the governments who pledged to protect children?

Where are the voices that claim morality and justice?

Where are the people who promised “never again”?

Maryam is not a number.

She is a fragile child with bones that break under her own weight.

A child subjected to a genocide through no fault of her own and stolen her childhood day by day.

A child who was promised rescue, and abandoned by silence.

Her evacuation was approved.

Her medical need is urgent.

Her suffering is undeniable.

And yet… she is still there.

Still poisoned by unsafe water.

Still fighting for every breath while the world debates.

Dear world, cry.

Cry because bureaucracy has trapped her longer than her body can endure.

Cry because if this were your daughter, your sister, your niece, you would tear the sky open to save her.

Maryam is still here.

Still holding on.

Still waiting for the world to remember its humanity.

Do not look away.

Not on day 90.

Not on day 792.

Not ever.

THE FIGHT HAS NOT STOPPED.

Maryam is still approved for evacuation.

Her and her family is still suffering unimaginable conditions, now with flooded shelters destroyed, contamination poisoning them, and medical bills they cannot pay.

We need your help more than ever.

Do not look away.

Not today.

Not while this child is still fighting for her life.

With gratitude,
