As a single mother, each day I am burdened with the task of driving my son to school due to the ongoing transportation crisis in the Renfrew County District. The climbing gas prices, coupled with the unavailability of school transportation, has not only disrupted our routine, but has also taken away the simple joys and extras from my son’s life - the weekend fun, his favorite snacks, and our cherished movie dates.

Thousands of students and families like ours are bearing the brunt of the unresolved negotiations between the Renfrew County District School Board (RCDSB) and the Renfrew County Transportation Joint Consortium (RCTJC). The fallout of these stalled negotiations has transformed a systematic transportation issue into a community crisis.

There is an urgent need for the Ontario government and Minister of Education, Jill Dunlop, to intervene and take immediate action. This isn't just about transportation; it's about the impact on the education, finances, and overall quality of life for thousands of students and families.
