An important update about The Passion Translation and YouVersion

Thank you so much to everyone who has signed this petition and shared why The Passion Translation is meaningful to you.

Since this petition began, there has been an important development: YouVersion has placed The Passion Translation under review rather than removing it from the Bible App.

I believe this is the right approach.

If there are genuine concerns about any Bible translation, they should be examined carefully and honestly. But while that process is taking place, I believe Christians should still have access to TPT.

For many of us, The Passion Translation has helped us encounter familiar passages in a fresh way, draw closer to Jesus and discover the depth of our Heavenly Father's Love. We may not all agree on every translation choice, but we should be able to read it, compare it with other translations, study it prayerfully and make our own informed decisions.

This petition is therefore not asking YouVersion to ignore legitimate questions about TPT.

It is simply asking:

Please don't remove it while it is being reviewed.

Let the review take place. Let the evidence be examined. And let those who value TPT continue to have access to it.

We are now working towards 500 signatures. If you haven't signed yet, please consider adding your name — and if you have already signed, please consider sharing this petition with someone who loves and uses The Passion Translation.

Thank you for standing for choice, careful examination and freedom to engage with the Passion Translation!

Deep thanks to you

Liz

The Passion Translation (TPT) of the Bible has profoundly impacted my spiritual life, breathing Life and deep Love  into my relationship with God

“… yet love surpasses them all. So above all else, let love be the beautiful prize for which you run.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭13‬:‭13‬ ‭TPT‬‬

For countless believers around the globe, TPT has offered a vibrant, insightful, and immensely personal approach to Scripture, reigniting their faith and deepening their understanding and love of God's word.

Despite its profound impact, recent conversations have raised concerns and allegations against TPT.   While introspection and scrutiny are necessary for spiritual growth, it is equally critical that believers are entrusted with the freedom to choose the Bible translation that resonates most meaningfully both with their hearts and their faith journey.

The YouVersion Bible App is a valuable resource for believers worldwide, providing accessible Scripture across various translations. By maintaining TPT on the platform, YouVersion would uphold its commitment to spiritual diversity and freedom of choice, allowing each individual to find the translation that best speaks to their heart.

Please join us in our appeal to YouVersion to retain The Passion Translation on the Bible App. Your signature can ensure that people all over the world continue to access this transformative version of Scripture that has played such an essential role in rekindling passion and devotion among so many. Let us protect our right to choose and enrich our Life in Christ

KEEP THE PASSION TRANSLATION ON YOUVERSION

Let Christians Choose Which Bible Translation They Read

We are calling on YouVersion to keep The Passion Translation (TPT) available on the Bible App.

The Passion Translation has become deeply meaningful to Christians around the world. For many people, it has brought a fresh, passionate and deeply personal perspective to Scripture and has helped them reconnect with God!

We recognise that serious questions and allegations have recently been raised concerning The Passion Translation and the work and claims of Brian Simmons. These matters deserve proper examination and honest discussion.  But allegations are not the same as proven wrongdoing.

We believe YouVersion should allow its users to make their own informed decisions rather than removing TPT altogether.

One of the great strengths of YouVersion is that it provides access to many different Bible translations. We can read them alongside one another, compare them with other translations and examine the evidence for ourselves.

OUR REQUEST TO YOUVERSION

PLEASE KEEP THE PASSION TRANSLATION AVAILABLE.

If YouVersion has concerns about TPT, we ask that those concerns are investigated carefully and transparently, and that users are given appropriate information.

But please do not remove TPT and make that decision on behalf of millions of Bible readers.

Give us the choice.

We believe Christians are capable of reading different translations, comparing them and reaching their own conclusions.

OUR COMMITMENT

I am signing this petition because I want The Passion Translation to remain available on YouVersion.  Please do not take this choice away from us.

Keep The Passion Translation.

Let us read it.

Let us compare it.

Let us examine it.

Let us decide for ourselves.

KEEP TPT ON YOUVERSION.
