Urge USCCB to deny Eucharist to Justices siding with Trump on SNAP

Urge USCCB to deny Eucharist to Justices siding with Trump on SNAP
The Issue
For decades, right-wing Catholics have clamored for liberal Catholic political figures to be denied the Eucharist for their pro-choice political views. This stance is frequently advocated under the belief that such views contradict the core tenets of Catholicism. However, there is an equally pressing, if not more immediate, contradiction present within the choices made by certain Catholic members of our government. Right-leaning Catholic Supreme Court Justices sided with President Trump in a decision that effectively withholds SNAP benefits from millions of Americans—a decision that places already vulnerable families in even more difficult positions. Denying SNAP support does not align with Catholic social teaching on caring for the poor and supporting life at every stage.
The denial of food assistance to those who struggle to feed their families is as egregious an anti-life stance as public support for abortion and should be treated as such by our religious leaders with denial of the Eucharist at Mass until the Justices rescind their position.
By denying the Eucharist to those in power who decide against the needs of the poor, the Church would send a powerful message endorsing the sanctity of life over partisan division. Such a stance would reinstate a balanced moral approach and reaffirm the Church's commitment to core Catholic values of love, compassion, and aid to the needy.
This petition calls upon the US Council of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) to take a stand against this moral dissonance. We urge the USCCB to deny access to the Eucharist to those Catholic Supreme Court Justices who made decisions that harm the poor. By doing so, the Church can highlight its unwavering dedication to the life and dignity of the poor.
Join this petition in sending a clear and resolute message that caring for the entirety of God's creations means standing up against policies that harm our most vulnerable members. Sign this petition to reaffirm the Church’s role as a beacon of hope and charity in a divided world.
