The Issue

I write on behalf of those who love India and believe in its unity: please do not let emotionally driven and unverified campaigns shape international action. Recent viral campaigns amplified by sensational slogans and selective clips have been pushed onto global platforms to create a false picture of nationwide persecution. What this really is is manufactured outrage dressed as human rights advocacy.

India is the world’s largest democracy. Our Constitution guarantees religious freedom and equality. Our courts, media and civil society are active and plural. Like every democracy, we face local incidents and debates. These are handled through law, not by turning our nation into a simplified headline for foreign audiences.

During Operation Sindoor a flood of false and doctored claims spread across platforms, many traced to foreign or malicious amplification, and were repeatedly debunked by government fact checks and independent verifiers. This episode shows how quickly misinformation can create a false global narrative about India.

Similar campaigns have reappeared around sensitive religious incidents too, using selective clips, doctored material and paid amplification to manufacture outrage. Several viral messages and forwards during recent security and civic events were exposed as fake by fact check units. These tactics do not advance truth, they polarise communities.

We stand for inclusivity. Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists and others are integral to India. Our shared life in workplaces, neighbourhoods and festivals is the real story, not viral posts designed to divide.

We urge the United Nations to reject emotionally charged and unverified campaigns that seek to distort India’s reality. Demand independent verification, on the ground fact finding and a balanced hearing of Indian voices before acting. If you believe in fair process and in India’s unity, sign this petition to defend our nation’s integrity and to stand against those who would exploit human rights language to weaken us.
