New endorsement from a Professor of Entomology - and we are nearing 650 signatures!

Hi all, 

My heart is full due to all of the support we have received for this petition. We are nearing 650 signers at this point. As always, keep writing letters of support to our city council, the Three Rivers Parks Commissioners and our Mayor. Each letter counts!

In surprising news, we have documented presence of the Rusty Patched Bumblebee, a federally protected endangered species, in a location directly off Brookside Avenue. I have attached a photo of the sightings from iNaturalist. As a result, Dr. Elaine Evans, an Extension Professor of Entomology at the University of Minnesota (and pre-eminent bee researcher), has written a letter in support of this petition. Let's keep the pressure on. These trees (and bees!) are important to us!
